Excitement leads to rushing, which inevitably leads to mistakes. Today's EFOD is all about what happens when you don't double check what you're doing!
So after discovering that my Visa Signature card offers 2-for-1 movie tickets on Fridays I was very excited to see if it would work for new releases. To my surprise the offer is valid for any movie at any time (on Fridays)! I proceeded to quickly book a 6:45 showing of X-Men at my local theater.
Showing up 10 minutes early I proceed to the box office and present my card to receive the tickets, at which point the clerk points out that no tickets are on reserve with that card.
"That's impossible" I said, "I just booked them and got an e-receipt for them!"
"Fandango services a lot of theaters, are you sure it wasn't perhaps somewhere else?"
"No that can't be let me check my receipt, I specifically selected this thea--"...
The words stuck mid-sentence as I realized I had indeed booked at a different location, luckily it was easy enough to modify the reservation for the next showing...and the different theater turned out to have a better screen and atmosphere.
All in all, a very good ending to what started as an EFOD!
