No benefit is greater when working from home than getting to sleep late and not worrying about an early wake up call. Unfortunately car checks and meetings thwarter the best laid plans. It might not have been the most productive day from a work perspective, but getting things done was pretty satisfying!
The rainbow above was a rare treat for the end of the day as we headed to a local farm to enjoy some home-made ice cream. The day started with my intent to get a checkup on the Lancer and get the bumper fixed from the latest mishap but of course there was no slot available at the mechanic's (even having sent an email for an appointment on Saturday).
The excitement of the afternoon was watching HGTV and dreaming of sea-side villas. This lasted until my meeting with a financial advisor and hearing all about the possibilities available for the 40 years between now and a hopefully early retirement. The one wrinkle is an upfront yearly fee of $800, and while that might constitute a loss for the company and all the time they are investing it's not exactly peanuts, some careful consideration will be needed in the next couple of days.
My plan to drive down monthly expenses entered overdrive today as I contacted Cox to have a "major downgrade of services" (their words). This will be an interesting test to see if surviving with only 1 premium channel will be enough ("No Beer and no TV make Homer...something something!) Of course the $60 per month saving will certainly help.
Finally the day was capped off with a stroll to get some ice cream with the pup...and a trip to my car to seek a lost phone!
